Medicare advisor website built for Vashon Island seniors — fast, trustworthy, and engineered to rank for local Medicare searches in the 98070 ZIP.
Vashon Medicare Maven is an independent Medicare advisor serving seniors on Vashon and Maury Island. The practice runs on trust and word-of-mouth — this is a ferry-access community of roughly 10,000 where a local human beats a national 1-800 line every time. The old web presence didn’t reflect that. We rebuilt the site as a local SEO foundation aimed at the way Vashon seniors actually search, call, and decide.
The problem with most Medicare websites
Search “Medicare advisor” from a phone anywhere in the country and the first page is dominated by national call centers, lead-generation funnels, and insurance carrier sites optimized to harvest a phone number. None of that helps a 68-year-old on Vashon Island who wants to talk to a local person before annual enrollment closes.
Medicare is high-stakes and time-boxed. Enrollment windows are narrow, plan choices are confusing, and the wrong plan costs real money every month for a full year. Seniors who can’t find a trustworthy local advisor end up with whoever answers the 1-800 number — and that person has no idea which Vashon clinic takes which plan.
What happens when a local advisor is invisible online
For the practice, every senior who defaults to a call center is a lost client and a lost referral chain — Medicare is a decade-plus relationship, and families talk. Every relevant query got mapped to a page, and every page got:

- Vashon and Maury Island named in the first 100 words, with ZIP 98070 where it fits naturally
- LocalBusiness and Professional Service schema so Google understands exactly what’s offered and where
- Internal links that move a visitor from a question toward booking a consultation
- Plain-language explanations of Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D — no jargon, no upsell
Technical build
Medicare shoppers are often on older devices and slower connections. A site that takes six seconds to load on a ferry-WiFi iPad loses the visit. We built on a static architecture with Cloudflare in front, and the site now scores in the high 90s on mobile PageSpeed. Core Web Vitals all green. Tap-to-call phone numbers above the fold on every page. No third-party chat widget, no pop-up, no dark patterns — this audience distrusts all of that instantly and they’re right to.
Conversion, not just traffic
Ranking is half the job. The site has to turn a visit into a booked consultation. Every page leads to one of two actions: call directly or request a callback. The form is short — name, phone, what they want to talk about — because a senior who has to fill out fourteen fields will close the tab. Phone is prominent because this audience prefers a voice over a form, and that’s a feature, not a compromise.
Consultations happen on the senior’s terms: in-person on Vashon, over the phone, or by video. A call center can’t match that flexibility because it doesn’t live here.
